The Azure Networking team is responsible for designing and building the Software Defined Network infrastructure that run our customers mission critical workloads. We invent, architect, code, automate and run Microsoft’s network, including the software at all layers from host to host, across the Microsoft Azure Cloud. This comprises software for distributed system command and control. Software for planning, simulation, configuration, traffic engineering and management for high availability and consistent network performance.
Azure Networking is the team behind Microsoft cloud infrastructure. Physical Networking team is responsible for the data center networks, that enable cloud services. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the network that powers the world’s largest online services.
We are looking for a Principal Network Engineering Manager with strong knowledge in Network Fundamentals, Design and troubleshooting with some experience in software development. Experience in networking technologies such as Routing, Switching, Load Balancing is a must. You should feel comfortable working with as well as designing and maintaining large-scale Networks. By joining this team, you will gain marketable experience in service-oriented network architectures and hyper-scale data centers. This is a high visibility position in an area of large and expanding investment for Microsoft Azure and offers a terrific opportunity for technical and career growth.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Desired:
- Experience in Core Networking with design, build, operate etc.
- Ability to learn and grow to support the cloud scale growth.
- Understanding of Automation, security and Operation.
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN), Overlay Network technologies (VXLAN, NVGRE & Geneve) and distributed systems is a plus
Required:
- 10+ years of past network engineering experience driving large scale, date driven projects is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in managing and leading a team of Network/Software Engineers as a people manager.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- Experience with the following technologies must have, Routing & Switching
- Expert-level knowledge, experience, and ability troubleshooting and producing designs that leverage protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, LDP, VRF etc.
- Working knowledge, experience, and ability with TCP internals and other L4-7 protocols and technologies such as: SSL, HTTP, DNS, NTP, Local Load Balancing, Global Load Balancing, Netmon/Wireshark, etc.
- Experience in developing security hardening procedures, security best practices, and policy implementation
- Programming, Scripting experience working on Python
- Familiar with debugging large-scale systems
- Prior experience withdevelopinglarge high-volume services, with service-oriented development andcloud-basedsystems is a plus
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, including working across geographies.
- Passion and drive for profound impact. Ability to work with multiple partner teams and external vendors to deliver impact.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience.
