The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges. We are a highly cohesive and collaborative cross-discipline team that works closely with our customers’ designers and engineers to create the “Art of the Possible”, to co-innovate, and to co-engineer solutions that accelerate and differentiate their organization. We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams and Partners to empower our customers to do more with emerging technologies. .

We are hiring a Engineering General Manager to be the Regional Leader for our growing Asia region with deep experience managing diverse teams, leading customer/partner relationships, and designing and delivering innovative solutions. In this role, you will manage a team comprised of TPMs and Software Engineers who are responsible for driving the planning, design, and development of world-class solutions with and for our customers. You will provide critical leadership guidance and support to your team, account teams, customers, and partners. You will be part of the ISE Assets Senior Leadership team reporting directly to leader of Assets where you will represent your region as well as contributing to the overall leadership of Assets. You will work alongside Creative, and Data Science disciplines to create clarity, generate energy, and deliver success in the face of tight timelines and ambiguous goals and requirements. This role requires someone who thrives in navigating uncertain and complex environments and who can quickly adapt and adjust their strategies and tactics to find solutions within unknown spaces and the ever-changing landscape of emerging technology. You will also look at ways to support your region and when possible grow it. You will be responsible for within the Asia region being the leader in driving and managing culture, inclusivity, goals, success metrics, resources, strategies, partnerships, and the rhythm of business. This leader have a strong technical background and will need to be a multi-disciplinary leader across Software Engineering and Technical Program Management disciplines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and managing high performance engineering teams
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • 12+ years’ of relevant experience in engineering, designing, building and shipping software at scale
  • 7+ years’ team leadership and people management experience including managing managers
  • 5+ years experience managing complex, cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with Asset heavy industrial companies delivering software projects
  • Advanced experience in strategic product management, design, and development of emerging technologies
  • Strong technical experience in managing customer relationships and engagements, triaging, and managing priorities
  • Experience working within and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
  • Enjoy travel and comfortable with travel up to 25%

Solution Development

  • Manage, support, and grow a team of Software Engineers and Technical Program Managers who lead cross-functional customer engagements and teams for multiple scenarios
  • Drive a portfolio of customer engagements to deliver well-defined scenarios that accelerate customer value
  • Build and maintain creative and technical knowledge to actively guide and support planning, design, and development activities across a diverse range of portfolio initiatives
  • Exhibit deep working knowledge of new technologies including artificial intelligence, large language models, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI and Large Language Models, mixed reality, and the industrial metaverse
  • Review and approve proposed solutions that include a diverse range of designs and complex technical architectures

Solution Performance

  • Works directly with customers and partners to collect and analyze performance metrics, monitor progress, and derive insights for multiple scenarios across the region
  • Works directly with customers and partners to identify product opportunities, and influence product roadmaps by developing relationships with product teams, sharing insights and data from customer engagements, and driving executive communication
