Meta AR/VR Job | Account General Manager, Telco Sales – US & APAC

Meta Reality Labs (MRL) is looking for an exceptional person to take the role of Account General Manager of two Tier 1 Telco Companies. This is a critical role in our Global Telco Sales Team. This team is focused on bringing the new Meta Reality Labs hardware and experiences to consumers in Global Wireless Telecom points of distribution. This is not your traditional OEM to Telco sales role. We are looking for contributors who will break from tradition and create a change in GTM for the next computing platform. Reporting up through the Head of Global Wireless Carrier Sales, this role will lead the MRL hardware business at T-Mobile US (TMUS) operating primarily in US, SK Telecom (SKT) operating in South Korea including account management, forming key relationships across customer leadership and working teams, and be the point for the commercial relationship for all connected RL hardware.
This role is an individual contributor and will require a seasoned sales leader that can work on multiple axis while building the GTM structure; lead and support cross-functional teams, but will also dive into the hard work as well; and finally push the boundaries for our products and also live the values and culture that is Meta.
Successful candidates at RL lead and contribute with influence before title and communicate easily across functions and levels of the team. You will need to be at home in a fast-paced environment with democratized information and working across Meta Product Management, Business Development, Marketing, and Operations teams AND at the same time working with the customer’s cross functional teams.
Fluent in both English and Korean language and a high level of business cultural acumen
10+ years experience in sales, marketing or business roles with a clear record of quota or KPI achievement and success in technology based consumer sales
Experience and knowledge of Korean & US telco or hardware supplier, device manufacturing or other relevant telcomm category
Experience business planning and tactical execution, with an understanding of the various market models available to drive sales in various channels and network activation and equally important, an opinion of what GTM innovation could be
Experience in go-to-market planning and execution across online and traditional retail channels
Proven communication and presentation skills with a business acumen
Interested in being an advocate for innovation and the opportunities presented by disruptive technologies
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
Create channel, business, and collaboration opportunities that bring consumers into the TMUS & SKT channels looking for our products
Direct and manage FRL business activities with TMUS & SKT implementing effective strategies and programs to meet organizational goals
Create, develop and maintain executive account relationships across the customer organization that lead to optimal business relationships, leading to both working and level planning, alignment and execution.
Regular customer / market / product / competitive analysis that leads to account objectives and strategies. Regularly communicate with executives and internal / external stakeholders to align resources and achieve mutual goals
Negotiate and present account programs / contracts, gaining internal alignment and approvals with cross functional partners (finance, legal, operations, etc)
Lead & execute joint business planning , QBRs and product launch and seasonal planning activities to meet sales objectives within agreed upon budgets and KPIs
Manage account scorecard, allocate budget, identify opportunities for optimization and growth
Travel between US and South Korea 3-5 times per year
MBA or postgraduate degree
