Sensors and Systems Research team is currently seeking innovative scientists with experience designing, modeling, and prototyping advanced optical systems for next generation sensors. This is a full-time position and requires an advanced degree in optical engineering, physics, or similar, and a strong background in optical system design and innovation. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic cross-functional team.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
3+ years of experience with system-level prototyping, including hands-on prototyping of bench-top optical components and systems.
3+ years of experience in designing complex optical systems (imaging and/or non-imaging).
3+ years of experience in one or more polarization optics and physical optics modeling tools and methods, such as Jones Matrix, FDTD, RCWA, or optical system design and polarization ray tracing tools, such as ZEMAX, FRED, or CODE V.
3+ years of experience in optics technologies including one or more of the following: polarization optics, physical optics, computational optics, holography, display optics, imaging, illumination, radiometry, and photometry.
Experience working, communicating, and collaborating in a cross-functional environment.
PhD degree or equivalent experience in Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
General knowledge of optics including imaging, illumination, radiometry and colorimetry, physical and geometric optics, and polarization.
3+ years of experience with scientific programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, and Mathematica).
Description（岗位职责）
Develop novel concepts and technologies for next generation sensors in AR/VR.
Explore the co-design space between optics, sensors and algorithms.
Implement proof-of-concept hardware prototypes that redefine the state-of-the-art in AR/MR.
Engage cross-functionally with researchers and engineers to explore innovative concepts that advance the entire system (hardware, software, integration, infrastructure, and applications), and create compelling future AR/MR experiences.
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Experience with image sensors, image processing, and calibration methods.
Experience with diffractive optics, metasurfaces, and computational optics.
Track record of achieving results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at workshops or conferences (e.g., OSA, SPIE, IEEE, SIGGRAPH, COSI, and SID).
Understanding of illumination sources (lasers and LED’s), spatial light modulators, optical materials, and thin films optics.
Experience developing prototypes and collaborating in a team environment across a diverse set of disciplines including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, and Optics.
