The Camera & Depth (C&D) team gathers world class expertise and talent in photographic and machine vision cameras, imaging sensors, and depth, inertial, and bio sensing systems, and owns the development and validation for all these sensing systems across the whole AR, VR, & Portal product portfolios.

We are looking for System Engineers to join our depth architecture team to own aspects of system electrical architecture product definition and relentlessly push the boundaries of innovation in pursuit of optimal sensing solutions that will enable our bold product vision. The ideal candidate is effective at collaborating with cross-functional teams, can grasp system block diagrams and guide HW design choices, is experienced with C/C++ and scripting languages, and has electrical engineering skills working with power supplies, oscilloscopes, and electronic parts toward the definition and prototyping of system builds to help inform critical program decisions.


Experience grasping system block diagrams, datasheets and/or schematics to guide HW designs and design choices

Experience in one or more of the following areas: HW design, system definition, or system prototyping

3+ years of experience in working with RX or TX subsystems/components for depth cameras and/or depth camera algorithms

Electrical engineering skills working with power supplies, oscilloscopes, handle (and occasionally solder) electronic parts such as PCBs, QFNs and other lab equipment

Experienced at programming in C/C++ and scripting languages like Perl or Python

Understanding of common HW interfaces like SPI, I2C, I3C, MIPI, etc.

BS or MS in electrical, computer engineering, or similar


Define, guide, and own aspects of system electrical architecture product definition either through system prototyping vehicles or chipset definition of sub-systems in Depth Cameras, in conjunction with system architects

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, electrical, optical, mechanical, firmware on hardware design and processes

Review and analyze data from prototype builds and/or system builds to help inform critical program decisions

Provide engineering leadership and mentorship to team members

Proven analytical, communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills

Up to 20% domestic or international travel could be required

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Proven history of working with third party vendors and suppliers from concept to mass production and all intermediate steps

Hands-on experience in one of the following areas: (1) System prototype definition, bring up, debug and validation including use of FPGAs and/or (2) providing HW architectural guidance to cross-functional engineering teams as part of new product definition requirements & commitments

Skilled in analysis and automation tools such as MATLAB, Cadence, Allegro, Simulink

Worked with cross functional experts and external vendors to develop, document and present proposals for depth camera prototypes or systems

Experienced guiding system electrical & mechanical layouts, integration feasibility studies & identifying enabling technologies

Understands the concepts of image quality metrics and/or experience

Well versed in navigating through power budgets, signal integrity, EMC, and RF challenges associated w/ Time of Flight systems
