Meta AR/VR Job | Opto-Mechanical Engineer | Oculus
Job(岗位): Opto-Mechanical Engineer | Oculus
Type(岗位类型): Hardware | Research
Citys(岗位城市): Redmond, WA
Date(发布日期): 2022-8-30
Summary(岗位介绍)
As a Mechanical or Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Meta Reality Labs - Research (RL-R), you will help research, design, build, and test state-of-the-art solutions, mechanisms, and prototypes for next generation Augmented Reality consumer products that will create transformative user experiences. You will become part of a hardware-centric research team exploring creative new technical solutions from initial concept development, prototype design, analytical modeling, tooling design, and fast iterative prototyping. The position will support multiple research areas as the mechanical engineering expert in an R&D environment to prove initial viability and firmly establish the technology. The position will also be responsible for technical management of subject matter expert commercial partners. The role may help in transferring the technology to product design teams, but will not be involved in design of the high-volume product. The role will require broad Mechanical Engineering knowledge and the ability to dive into new technical areas. We want people who work well in cross-functional teams; can brainstorm big ideas, help chart direction in environments with high ambiguity, work in unexplored technology areas, and are able to drive a concept into working prototypes for proof-of-concept and performance testing. Starting with a sound mechanical or opto-mechanical engineering background, the candidate must be willing to become a quick expert in a new area by quickly build new prototypes using novel materials and/or by integrating structures in new ways.
