We are looking for a skilled and motivated Softgoods Research Developer with a specialty in 3D Knitting to join our team, whose mission is to work with a broad range of multidisciplinary research to advance the state-of-the art for wearable interaction devices. We are specifically looking for a candidate with strong 3D knit programming and manufacturing skills, with experience integrating electronics into soft flexible systems, and who can work with a team of researchers working in haptic rendering techniques, psychophysics, and AR/VR specific human-computer-interaction paradigms. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers, designers, and engineers, and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience in industrial knitting or a field related to wearable devices and textiles, such as industrial design, textile science, polymer and materials science, mechanical engineering
5+ years production experience in 3D knitted apparel or technical wear
1+ years experience with novel textile fabrication and electronics integration techniques
Track record of leading projects and teams and delivering research or product prototypes in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Description(岗位职责)
Frame, plan, and execute 3D knit solutions for functional and smart garment systems
Work with researchers, designers, engineers, and other roles, to drive solutions for wearable AR/VR interaction devices
Connect and drive collaborations with vendors, academic, and industry labs to advance research in relevant areas
Thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, and cross-disciplinary environment
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
5+ years working with 3D knitting machines (Stoll and/or Shima preferred)
5+ years of production experience on 3D knitting machines
Experience working in a research space
Experience anticipating and articulating the requirements for knitted products (cosmetic, aesthetic, reliability, precision) and lead a team through optimizing the tradespace
