In this position, we are researching new ways of representing accurate, editable, digital avatars of people, focusing on the face, hair and body. We want to leverage traditional character techniques, enhanced with the latest in machine learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer graphics and machine learning techniques.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years’ experience in digital character creation, with expertise in areas like facial and hair rigging, volumetric simulation, and neural rendering
A broad understanding of computer graphics and machine learning techniques
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading conferences (e.g., SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ECCV and ICCV, NIPS, ICLR, ICML) or journals (e.g., TOG, PAMI, IJCV, JMLR)
Develop new ways of rendering the head, hair and body of a user in a highly photorealistic manner
Research techniques using machine learning in all aspects of digital character creation, rendering, and animation.
Build prototypes and demos of real-time digital humans
Research techniques to quickly create 3D real-time representations of the user as they are in the moment
Experience with digital double generation for high-end VFX and/or video game applications
Experience with designing real-time systems in C++, CUDA, and Python
