As a Metrology Engineer on the Meta Reality Labs AR/VR hardware team, you will support the development and production of state-of-the-art mechanical designs, structures, mechanisms and sensor integration solutions that will create transformative experiences for users of Augmented Reality. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through analytical modeling and fast iterative prototyping. You will work on cutting edge technologies with a diverse cross-functional team of engineers and scientists that pioneer mechanical, electrical, optical, materials, firmware, software and computer vision solutions. We value people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, are able to drive a concept into a prototype and can envision how that prototype could transition into a high-volume consumer product.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience
Demonstrated knowledge in 3D and 6D measurement systems (e.g. CMM, OMM, Laser Tracker, 3D Scanner) and standard measurement software (e.g. Spatial Analyzer, Metrolog, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, Zone 3)
Understanding of theoretic dimensional metrology concepts that can be applied to solve metrology problems to create successful metrology procedures
Experience with GD&T, and associated metrology
Experience communicating among cross functional teams
Description（岗位职责）
Lead a team of metrology technicians in the AR Hardware Metrology Lab
Develop best practices dimensional mechanical metrology to promote and execute within Reality Labs organization, and to our contract manufacturing suppliers
Collaborate with cross-functional team to validate concepts and detailed designs
Apply rigorous metrology techniques and programming to solve challenging design problems
Offer technology solutions to provide capable measurement platforms for small complex parts with tight tolerances
Lead Gage R&R studies within the internal AR Hardware team and suppliers. Contribute to measurement plans and procedures using appropriate metrology applications
Will debug metrology issues with Suppliers, and will provide guidance to suppliers on how to measure/decode GD&T
Will review measurement data that comes from suppliers or other labs
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
10+ years of metrology field application experience
Experience participating on teams that design from concept to manufacturing
In-depth knowledge of metrology techniques (sparse point cloud versus dense point cloud, stepped datum features, complex surfaces as datum features)
3+ years experience working on high-volume products such as consumer tech, automotive, aerospace, consumer appliance or medical device
Experience with design from concept to high-volume manufacturing
Experience in Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Experience creating scripts or algorithms either within metrology software or externally to meet measurement and assembly simulation requirements
Knowledge of Minitab, Quantum XL, Jump, or other statistical software
Knowledge of metrology fixture design concepts or reviewing fixture designs
