Reality Labs Research (RL-R) brings together a world-class R&D team of researchers, developers, and engineers to build the future of connection within virtual and augmented reality. We’re developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses.
The technology that is being developed within the Surreal team at FRL-R is a new generation of end-to-end real-time 3D scene understanding systems working across novel mobile sensor design, sensor fusion, state estimation, computer vision, large-scale reconstruction and localization, as well as large-scale machine learning, online inference and optimization.
The Surreal team is seeking an experienced Applied Research Manager to lead and support a group of world-class researchers in order to work on a new research initiative as part of the LiveMaps project.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
5+ years of people management experience in multi-disciplinary global teams at the intersection of tech and product, including building performing teams and organization
8+ years of R&D work experience, including 8+ years experience of hands-on technical leadership
BSc degree in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or related field
Extensive experience in the domain of geometric computer vision (e.g., 3D object reconstruction, SLAM, or tracking)
Demonstrated experience in recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
Leadership and interpersonal communication experience in working across many disciplines, driving best practices, and mentor team members
Description（岗位职责）
Lead and support a team of applied research scientists to conduct cutting edge research in computer vision and machine learning
Be highly technical, effective as a people manager, and have a natural desire to bring structure to organizations
Manage engineers and help them develop their careers including technical mentorship, matching them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
Partner with cross-organizational partners to transfer incubated technology to production teams
Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement
