Senior Thermal Engineer- Mixed Reality Team

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Thermal Engineer experienced in designing thermal solutions for Mixed Reality devices.

The successful candidate will have the ability to create thermal architectures and designs supported by thermal simulation and experimentally validate the thermal solutions. A mix of technical breadth and depth is desired to tie electronics, optics, and mechanical design into compelling consumer experiences. Experience in thermal design of consumer electronics products is required. A record of innovation and experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal measurements, mechanical and materials engineering to achieve performance and cost targets is required.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience
    • OR Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience using software such as Flo Electronic Fluid Dynamics (FloEFD), to perform CFD simulation and calculations to accurately predict thermal behavior of electronic assemblies.
  • 2+ years experiencing influencing mechanical integration and product design decisions by providing reliable data, analysis and thermal insights.

Specifically, this position supports United states federal,state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years related technical engineering experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related technical engineering experience
    • OR Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in using Design of Experiments and statistical analysis of experimental data
  • Proficiency inFloEFD
  • Experience in solving Structural and Moisture Ingress problems using a combination of CFD, finite element analysis (FEA), and materials engineering is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying System Engineering principles to design a robust Thermal System
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using CFD tools, Excel, JMP (John's Macintosh Project), Creo and Solidworks
  • Demonstrated experience successfully balancing experimental and theoretical approaches to obtain insight into thermal design and solving problems

Mechanical Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
