Virtual Internship

Participation in the Research Internship Program requires that you are physically located in the United States or Canada for the duration of the internship.

Our Mixed Reality and Computer Vision Team works on the frontiers of Computer Vision and Visual Learning to enable wearable devices connected to the Cloud provide physical and human augmentations of the real world for commercial and consumer scenarios. As an Intern in Mixed Reality/Computer Vision (Hololens) R&D you will work alongside passionate and talented scientists and engineers who are working to innovate and build ground-breaking technologies and products for human augmentation through Mixed Reality. You will conduct both fundamental and applied research in computer vision and visual learning under the supervision of Microsoft mentors, publish your results, build prototypes and demonstrations.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be accepted or currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or related STEM field with a focus on Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, AI or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates would have one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop original research agenda.
  • At least a year of research experience in computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, and AI methodology.
  • Experience with open source tools such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Caffe, etc.
  • Publication(s) in top-tier conferences or journals in related fields (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NIPS, ICML, IJCV, PAMI, etc.).
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Algorithmic problem solving and software development skills (C/C++, Python, etc.).
