Meta Reality Labs is looking for a Lab Technical Manager to lead and grow our team of technicians and help define the infrastructure in our lab that our team will need as we grow. They will work hand in hand with our engineering and research teams to bring groundbreaking AR technology to the world through rapid hardware modification and test.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
5+ years managing a hardware electronics prototyping and development support team
7+ years of electronics and test experience
Experience in development environment
Experience with lab management, electronic testing, and electrical design and rework processes, prototyping and assembly
Experience building electronic testing setups and rework lab spaces while maintaining and meeting the EHS( Environmental and Health Standards)
Experience procuring and keeping inventory of electronic parts, tools, and laboratory consumables
Experience working with and maintaining test and measurement equipment for digital, analog, high speed, RF, or related technologies
Experience working with laser and all the safety training and certifications required to operate and maintain laser equipment
Proven flexibility and experience working in a quickly changing environment
Proven effective organizational and interpersonal skills
Description（岗位职责）
Lead, grow, and mentor a team of electronic and rework techs performing the hardest rework while demonstrating various assembly and fabrication techniques to produce the highest quality product.
Work with the teams to identify, select and install new equipment into the spaces. Keep up to date on new technologies and equipment and investigate ways to improve the lab. Make recommendations with justification, pricing, and lead times on same to build out the facilities, staff and experience to enable their success.
Work closely with facilities and operations to plan lab spaces with a focus on safety, efficiency, low friction and quick turnaround for the teams and people who use them
Create and drive forward a culture of safety, organization, efficiency, and productivity with expectations of continuous improvement, documented processes, repeatable results.
Set up and perform or assign testing and rework as requested. Review test data for validity, correctness, trends and failures. Post test data in appropriate locations. Prepare and distribute test and status reports. Anticipate questions and changes. Report bugs with applicable support logs. Perform hardware modifications and SW/FW updates.
Manage external vendors and suppliers of outsourced projects and parts.
Manage the electronics labs’ day-to-day operations and project scheduling. Supervise lab work to ensure timely completion of service requests. Be primary point of contact for information, service requests and job status.
Assist employees by providing lab equipment instruction and procedural guidance. Anticipate potential problems and help employees resolve them as they occur to get project back on schedule.
Own the day-to-day PO generation and working budget for the supported labs.
Travel domestically up to 15% time
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Knowledge on how to maintain proper handling, disposal and storage of chemical substances, Lithium and Hazardous waste
Knowledge of downloading firmware onto hardware, and familiarity with reading release notes
Knowledge of revision control software and bug ticketing/tracking system software like Jira, perforce, etc.
