This Director of Product Design Engineering will be passionate about identifying, developing and delivering the next generation AR products and enabling technologies. This is an intellectually complex and operationally challenging role that provides opportunity to lead a product design team.
This individual must have proven cross functional leadership and communication skills and be adept at getting new technologies launched at scale via collaborative team work with the respective groups at Meta. The individual in this role must be an exceptional leader with strong leadership skills, superior technical aptitude, strong passion for product development and technical details.
This candidate must have a proven track record in working with ODM & CM partners in the design, manufacture, testing and delivery of next generation hardware solutions.
Up to 25% travel is required in this role.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS degree in mechanical / product design engineering.
10+ years of engineering management experience.
High volume, Consumer electronics product development experience.
Knowledge of industry technology trends and relevant technologies applicable to Augmented Reality product design.
Demonstrated experience to lead & inspire mechanical, structural and thermal engineers in a hands-on fashion.
Experience from early concept design and ideation – though product completion and launch.
Experience with miniaturization and advanced fabrication processes.
Organizational communication and coordination skills along with multi-tasking experience to get things done in a fast-paced environment.
Description（岗位职责）
Lead Mechanical design team. Team is responsible for delivering product – from ideation and concept – through development and production ramp.
Cross functional collaboration across internal and external component suppliers, partner teams like EE, DFX, Supply chain, Research, Reliability, Quality, factory and Program Management.
Manage and develop the mechanical engineering team. Ensure high performing team.
Identify areas of investments and developments to improve our products and development efficiency.
Recruit, develop and retain a world-class team of top engineers who are recognized subject matter experts, high performing and with strong commitment to technical detail and program execution.
Manage team budget.
