At Reality Labs Research (RL-R), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Research Engineer to join our team, whose mission is to research new AR input devices. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in HCI, input sensing, ML, user interfaces, and who can work with a team of researchers who build and study interactive AR systems end-to-end. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Masters degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related technical field
Experience with applying machine learning to noisy sensor data in real-time, interactive applications (e.g., IMU, cameras, EMG)
Experience with building, optimizing, and troubleshooting interactive user experiences
Proficiency in python and software best practices, including code reviews and version control
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Description（岗位职责）
Collaborate and communicate effectively in a highly cross-functional team of researchers, hardware and software engineers, designers, UX researchers
Design and implement algorithms and software for AR input prototype devices, using state of the art signal processing and machine learning techniques
Partner with our design team to implement compelling end-to-end, interactive AR experiences
Design and implement user experiments to evaluate usability and performance of our prototype devices
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
PhD degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related technical field
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by patents, shipped products, or publications at leading HCI conferences such as CHI or UIST
Experience with C++ and systems programming, e.g. networking, multi-threading
Experience building graphical user interfaces in JavaScript, Unity, or Unreal
3+ years of experience in industry
Strong communication and personal management skills
