In this role, you will be researching and developing state of the art computer vision and machine learning technologies for solving challenges that bridge virtual and real worlds and can impact billions of people. You will be setting technical direction for the projects you work on and will have opportunities to collaborate with researchers Meta AI Research. There are lots of exciting and challenging unsolved problems in computer vision and machine learning for AR/VR.
2+ years research experience in the fields of image analysis, scene understanding and object detection.
2+ years of experience engineering in C++ or Python.
2+ Experience with computer vision/machine learning libraries such as OpenCV / Torch.
Knowledge in image analysis, machine learning, information theory, and 3D geometry.
2+ years of experience developing and designing Computer Vision with Machine Learning technologies and systems.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Develop creative computer vision and machine learning technology for Smart Glass applications.
Plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance Smart Glass product development.
Develop novel ML/CV solutions for Scene Understanding.
Research and prototype techniques and algorithms for Image Analysis and object detection.
Develop robust software and pipelines to land the technology at scale.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.
Experiences in working with large-scale datasets through semi-supervision and self-supervision.
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, NIPS, ECCV, ICCV, ISMAR, ICML, etc.
Professional industry experience in the field of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Robotics or similar.
Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
