The silicon computing development team is seeking passionate, driven, and intellectually curious computer/electrical engineers to deliver premium-quality designs once considered impossible. Our team is involved in numerous projects within Microsoft developing custom silicon for a diverse set of systems ranging from traditional computing solutions to artificial intelligence and augmented reality. We are responsible for delivering cutting-edge, custom CPU and SoC designs that can perform complex and high-performance functions in an extremely efficient manner.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
- BS/MS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years of practical experience.
- Solid background and understanding of computer architecture and design verification principles.
- Experience in assembly for one or more architectures.
- Familiarity with verification strategies and methodologies for one or more of the following:
- Secure boot / Measured boot
- On-chip access control
- Confidential computing technologies (including Trusted I/O)
- Side-channel attack mitigations (e.g. cache timing attacks, speculative execution side-channel attacks such as Spectre/Meltdown)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with threat model development.
- Knowledgeable in applied cryptography.
- Familiarity with physical hardware attacks such as fault injection, differential power analysis, etc.
- Experience with security evaluation and certification using FIPS and/or Common Criteria.
- Hands-on experience with disassembly tools (e.g. IDA Pro) and hardware debuggers.
- Familiarity with common attestation and authentication mechanisms
- Proficient communication, collaboration and teamwork skills and ability to contribute to diverse and inclusive teams
- Role will require collaboration with security architects, with opportunity to guide the architecture and provide recommendations for any vulnerabilities discovered.
- Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date on current and evolving hardware-based security vulnerabilities.

In this role, you will:
- Establish yourself as key member of the Security Verification team.
- Own security verification of custom CPU components and Core level flows.
- Apply your expertise in verification principles and techniques and your judgement to write test plans and implement them by developing tests, test generators, test benches, checkers, coverage, and other verification collateral.
- Run tests, debug failures to root cause, and recommend fixes.
- Apply your growth mindset to learn and adapt in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Engage with partners to drive continuous improvement to both the design, to verification plans/collateral, and to methodology to prevent, reduce, and/or find bugs sooner, more easily, or more reliably.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to engineers across the team.
- Apply your One Microsoft mentality to collaborate with and influence architects, logic designers, post-silicon validators, other verification engineers, and IP and tool providers.
- Delight your customers by providing high quality results on schedule.
- Provide technical leadership with respect and integrity.
- Apply your expertise towards post-silicon validation plans, tests, and security debug.
