The Facebook facility in Cork is undertaking challenging industrial research on the development and fabrication of these devices. These positions are particularly suited for electronic materials, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, optoelectronics, or physics postgraduate students who wish to further develop their skills in a vibrant, multidisciplinary, and fast-moving research environment.

Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks in length with various start dates throughout the year. We have several different projects to offer.

Currently studying for a full time PhD in electronic materials, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, optoelectronics or physics with a focus on semiconductors and able to return to the program after the completion of the internship

Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Extensive hands-on experience with processing or characterization of semiconductor materials, devices or assemblies, preferably in a cleanroom environment

Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration

Emphasis on micron-scale light-emitting (LED) diode device fabrication, characterization, yield assessment, reliability assessment, modeling, or assembly

Explore integration of novel materials and fabrication methods into micron-scale LEDs towards enhanced display performance

Hands-on processing/process development and/or characterization of device properties and assembly techniques

Active involvement in the data analysis to evaluate impact of electronic properties on future device performance

Communication of research agenda, progress and results

Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Hands-on experience with III-V semiconductors and assembly materials

Demonstrated relevant industry experience via an internship or work experience

Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated in accepted papers at international peer-reviewed journals or conferences
