We at Reality Labs Research are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets. The Optics & Display Research team focuses on technologies to power the visuals of our future devices. Software engineers work closely with scientists to build systems that push forward the state of the art, through prototypes, simulations, and algorithm development. If you are curious, interested in learning new things, and want to work on complex problems that span different scientific disciplines, you may be a good fit for this role.
Meta is seeking software engineering interns to join our team. In this role, you will be writing code (primarily in Rust/Python) to augment our simulation capabilities and help answer our most pressing research questions.
This internship/co-op has a minimum twelve (12) week duration and a maximum sixteen (16) week duration.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related field (Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, etc.)
Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, Objective-C, JavaScript)
Experience coding in Rust (Side projects / open source contributions are OK)
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Develop and push production-ready code by quickly ramping on assigned codebase and system
Complete assigned tasks efficiently with few iterations
Identify problem statements, outline optimal solutions, account for tradeoffs and edge cases
Communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders

Familiarity w/ Linear Algebra, Math, & Physics
Demonstrated software engineering experience from a previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, open-source contributions, or publications
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
