The RL Research Team pioneers research into new technologies to solve difficult technical challenges for our AR, VR, and MR products.

We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interface, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence. The team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of AR and VR, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or other related field with a focus on electrochemistry.

1+ years experience with polymer electrolyte development and characterization, polymer synthesis and formulation, mechanical properties of materials, omaterials testing.

Knowledge of common lithium-ion electrolyte systems, including common lithium salt, solvents, and additives, and their role.

Experience with analytical methods such as, SEM, EDX, FTIR, TGA/DSC, XRD, etc.

Experience with electrochemical cell characterization, linear-sweep voltammetry (LSV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and familiarity with Maccor/Arbin or other equivalent testing systems.

Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Description(岗位职责)

Design and develop new polymer materials and electrolyte formulations with desired ion-transport and mechanical properties for flexible Li-ion batteries as well as conduct the associated material characterization and electrochemical testing.

Application areas include: Polymeric materials synthesis and characterization, Polymeric electrolyte synthesis and characterization, Flexible Batteries, Wearable Systems.

Evaluate polymer electrolyte materials and formulations as a stand-alone battery component and in pouch cells utilizing electrochemical testing and analytical techniques.

Collaborate with the cross-functional research team, present and share results with key stakeholders.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Research experience with flexible and/or stretchable batteries preferably lithium-ion.

Knowledge of common lithium-ion anode, cathode and electrolyte systems.

Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in leading journals such as Nature, Science, Advanced Materials, ACS, APS, Wiley-VCH etc. or at leading workshops or conferences such as MRS, ECS, APS, ACS, AIChE etc.

Demonstrated experience via an internship, work experience, or widely used contributions to open source projects.

Intent to return to a degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
