The Cameras & Sensors (C&S) team gathers world class expertise and talent in photographic and machine vision cameras, imaging sensors, and depth, inertial, and bio sensing systems, and owns the development and validation for all these sensing systems across the whole AR, VR & Portal product portfolios.
The Image Sensors group is looking for an Application Engineer to support the development and adoption of next generation CV and RGB cameras and sensors. You will be the resident guide and technical support resource for a multi-function team, advising our internal customers.
BS in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or related equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience developing or integrating custom cameras and sensors.
Design and debugging experience of embedded hardware and software – particularly in camera or other imaging systems.
Experience working in an electro-optical laboratory environment.
Scripting language experience using Python or MATLAB.
Create camera and sensor reference designs, documentation, detailing the integration necessary with EE, ME, OE, FW & SW teams.
Develop and provide image sensor datasheets, technical white papers, application notes, tutorials and design tools.
Partner with product and system engineering to integrate these custom camera and sensor designs.
Provide hands-on bring-up and debug support of evaluation boards working with partner hardware engineering teams to diagnose and resolve issues.
Support firmware, camera and sensor design engineering teams in the collective effort of device and system level testing.
Collect issues identified through system-level evaluation and convey those to the engineering teams, advocating for fixes and/or improvements to the design, where needed.
MS in EE or imaging related technologies.
MIPI C-PHY & I3C protocol experience.
Firmware development experience using C/C++.
Experience with computer vision, ISP & camera correction algorithms.
AE/FAE experience supporting imaging systems.
