The Sensors and Systems Research team is looking for emerging scientists and researchers with interest in novel computational imaging systems and joint hardware-software co-design to push the envelope and explore what’s possible in our future AR/VR devices. We welcome PhD students across computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, and related disciplines. Our internships are twelve (12), to sixteen (16), or twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.


Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the field of Computer Science, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.

Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

2+ years experience with geometric optics, physical optics, and diffractive optics, including modeling and simulation.

2+ years experience with optimization or machine learning algorithms.

2+ years experience with scientific programming languages such as MATLAB or Python.


Investigate novel computational imaging systems that achieve high performance through a combination of algorithms and optics.

Collaborate with scientists and engineers from a variety of technical backgrounds through all stages of project development.

Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Deep learning experience in computational photography, neural rendering, 3D reconstruction, computational imaging, or related topics.

Experimental hardware experience in computational photography, computational imaging, or related topics.

Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in journals or at conferences, etc.

Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship.
