The Reality Labs (RL) Research Team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of AR and VR, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. The Surreal Vision team is looking for the next generation of scientists and engineers to tackle the most ambitious problems in machine perception.
In this internship, you will not only work on the forefront research topics present in academia and industry, but beyond you will work with a team invested in building the complete stack from sensor and optics design to fundamental machine learning and computer vision algorithms to the applications driving LiveMaps and the Metaverse. Our working style is fast-paced, focused on rapid progress and audacious exploration of novel solutions for fundamental problems.
Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and you have the option to start at various dates throughout the year.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in the field of Computer Science, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field
2+ years experience in at least one of the fields of Applied Optics, Computational Imaging, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, or a related field
2+ years experience in Python or C++
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Description(岗位职责)
Investigate novel computational imaging and computational optics systems that push the state of the art in sensing a headset’s environment
Design, develop, prototype, execute and analyze advanced imaging and machine perception systems for future headsets
Develop and apply cutting-edge machine/deep learning systems
Collaborate with and support other researchers across various disciplines
Communicate research agenda, progress and results
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
Experience with rapid proto-typing of experimental imaging setups
Experience with sensors, optics, cameras and imaging systems for machine perception
Experience in computer vision, including but not limited to detection, tracking, reconstruction and photo-realism
Broad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from sensors to high-level algorithms
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading publication venues related to the internship topic
Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub)
