The Microsoft Applied Sciences Group incubates disruptive technologies for Microsoft’s next-gen hardware products and is working on several exciting projects that will shape how computers and other devices perceive the user and the user’s environment. Operating as a startup within the company, this team works closely with several research and product teams to bring compelling new experiences to the market. A lot of these experiences will be powered by computer vision – and as part of this team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on almost every aspect of a shipping vision system: camera optics, sensors, data pipeline and of course, developing and implementing the algorithms that make magic happen!
The team is growing, and we are looking for talented computer vision and machine learning researchers: people who love to invent and build new stuff that really works and can be deployed to millions of users.

- Must be passionate about incubating new ideas, solving problems, and building working systems.
- Must be self-motivated, proven collaborators, good communicators, attentive to details, and keen to learn.
- Practical experience working in a highly performant team in an academic or industrial research environment.
- Must be strong programmers with software engineering experience and good debugging skills.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
- Should hold a PhD or similar degree in computer vision or machine learning.
- or have MSc and suitable alternate expertise and experience.
Must have experience in the following:
- Proficiency in python and good knowledge of machine learning development tools and libraries (PyTorch, Keras, Tensorflow).
- Minimum 3 years of developing and building machine learning, especially deep learning models.
- Hands on experience working on:
- Diffusion Models for image generation/editing.
- Generative Adversarial Networks for facial attribute editing.
- Vision Transformers for reference based super resolution.
- Efficient Vision Transformers/3D CNNs for efficient image/video Processing
- Publications in top-tier conferences or journals (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV etc.) or related patents.
- Proficiency in computer vision and machine learning models such as CNN, LSTM, GAN.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience working on 2D or 3D computer vision problems, ideally including analysis of human face/body/hands/clothes and lighting conditions.
- Proficiency in C++ (especially C++11 and newer).
- Hands on experience working on computer vision and deep learning toolkits.
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals and theoretical background of machine learning techniques with the ability to defend design choices with respect to real-world tradeoffs.
