The XR team at Facebook Reality Labs is helping people around the world come together and connect through world-class Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies. As a 3D Graphics Algorithm Engineer, you will be a member of our XR Graphics organisation, taking a lead in developing novel compression technologies for remote rendering to enable cutting edge visual experiences on compute constrained AR/VR devices. You will work with highly cross-functional teams from graphics, streaming, video/multimedia and silicon to develop new compression algorithms and codecs for real-time AR/VR experiences.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
BSc in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or similar
Experience developing compression algorithms for 3D graphics or Volumetric video data
5+ years experience designing and implementing real-time compression algorithms, video compression, signal processing and codecs for mobile or embedded processors
Proficiency in C/C++, strong software development, optimisation, and debugging skills
Experience in machine learning based data compression algorithms
Experience in assessing visual quality using both objective metrics and subjective techniques
Description(岗位职责)
Research and implement state of the art data compression algorithms for volumetric video, 3D data, point clouds, meshes and light fields
Understand adjacent domains like graphics, image processing and ML to influence the overall remote rendering architecture towards an optimal end to end solution
Collaborate with cross functional teams to create prototypes and take new ideas from research into production for existing and future products
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
MS/PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or similar
Experience developing compression algorithms for low latency streaming applications
Experience developing compression algorithms for silicon
Familiarity with video codec standards like H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, VP9, VVC, AV1
Understanding of real-time computer graphics pipeline, GPU hardware, ML hardware, DSP and mobile rendering
Strong understanding of image processing and AR/VR rendering
