The Reality Labs (RL) team focuses on delivering Meta’s vision through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. Our team has the responsibility for taking breakthrough concepts and delivering them to market at scale.
We are excited to offer a new career development program to grow our RL Hardware team. We are seeking engineers, who are military veterans at all levels to work with a world-class group of researchers and engineers in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Packaging, and more. You will support Product Engineering team members in developing and implementing custom product designs to drive our industry leading virtual and augmented reality systems. This is a 12-month program with the Reality Labs Team. Once the program concludes, those who have demonstrated their abilities to succeed and make an impact at Meta will be considered for a full-time position.
BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a technical role in the military
Experience working with technical or non-technical teams, cross-functional groups or vendors against plans
Experience articulating engineering solutions to both technical and nontechnical cross-functional partners
Military Veteran, transitioning Service Member, or military spouse
Designing, simulating, prototyping, debugging and testing of embedded systems which combine electronics, mechanics, optics and software with end-to-end ownership of product design from concept to launch
Building schematics, completing board layouts, assembling, testing, debugging, and integrating designs into opto-electro-mechanical systems
Collaborating in a team environment with cross-functional teams such industrial design, architecture, product design, NPI, research and supply chain Specifying components
Transforming vendor reference designs into custom solutions
Experience and knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) technologies, such as rigid, flex, hybrid, HDI, etc.
Understanding of or experience in Consumer Product Development Lifecycle programs
