The Mixed Reality & AI Lab in Cambridge (UK) is a research team building the future for mixed reality.We bring innovative new technologies and experiences from early-stage research to deployment in Microsoft products. Our focus is to enable transformative new remote presence experiences that combine next-generation mixed reality hardware with AI software to improve remote communication and collaboration.The team has a diverse wealth of experience across computer vision, graphics, neural rendering, deep learning, interaction, human character animation and software engineering, and has a strong track record of shipping ground-breaking technologies in Microsoft products including Kinect and HoloLens. We also have track record of collaboration with MSR team to understand the impact of technology on experience.
The Mixed Reality & AI Lab in Cambridge is looking for Research Interns in Mixed Reality Experience Design. As an intern you will work closely with one or more mentors and have access to the latest hardware and software technology we are developing. As needed, you will collaborate with our partners from design, cognitive science and game studios to redefine the meaning of virtual presence An internship at Microsoft will not only help you advance your own career but allow you to contribute to exciting research developments in the field. Qualifications（岗位要求）
Ph.D. candidate or equivalent in Computer Science in area related to AR/VR
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates would have one or more of the following qualifications:
- Strong understanding of face rigging
- Strong Unity experience
- Mixed/Virtual reality experience development portfolio
- Experience in posing and answering research questions in the area of human communication and collaboration
- Excellent communication and writing skills.

Description（岗位职责）
Interns put their research skills and theory into practice. During the 12-week internship, you will work on an exciting and open-ended project that aims to push the state of the art forward. You will be expected to collaborate with other interns and researchers by regularly sharing their findings with the group, actively seeking feedback from others, working in a shared codebase, and giving a final presentation. Research internships are available in all areas of research, and are offered year-round, though they often begin in the summer.
