Facebook Reality Labs is building tools that help people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. We are looking for a talented Display and Optics Supplier Quality Engineer to help us to build the display and optics components for our AR/VR products.
As part of Facebook Reality Labs Display and Optics Quality team, you will be a key member to work closely with cross functional teams to manage all quality issues at vendor factories, set up a world class quality control plan and quality system, and also deliver world class quality products for downstream. We are working together to create the future.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS in engineering (mechanical, chemical, material, or equivalent)
10+ years of experience developing finishing processes for different types of mechanical components.
Experience with technical and process development at new product introduction, technical problem solving, fixture manufacturing or operation skills.
Experience conducting Design of Experiments (DOEs) to drive process and data collection.
Experience with statistical process control tools (JMP or Minitab) to analyze data from experiments and part qualification, to provide solutions and recommendations to engineering teams.
Experience driving DFM to meet design intent and manufacturability.
Experience working with international supply chain vendors.
Able to write, read, and communicate clearly in English
Able to travel domestically and internationally.
Description（岗位职责）
You will investigate new technologies to create the new surface finishing processes to achieve a highly cosmetic finish. Evaluate the existing manufacturing processes at earlier product development stages to define the key process parameters. Optimize the processes to control a tight color specification.
Work closely with design teams to provide technical proposal and manufacturing solutions to help define the CMF targets and tolerances, to optimize the mechanical surface preparation processes including blasting and polishing, and surface finishing techniques including anodization, plating, painting, and PVD to meet challenging CMF targets.
Work directly with our commercial teams to identify potential partners in Asia to meet finishing requirements for technical perspectives and supply chain and manufacturing considerations.
Participate in core team weekly review to present Tier II surface finishing processes technical proposals to cross-functional partners and executives.
Work closely with the Asia manufacturing and quality team to conduct experiments and cosmetic control run to confirm the process capability to achieve an effective cost and high yield. Interface with quality and industrial designers to conduct color matching, to drive sample review with industrial designers to define the reasonable specification for mass production.
Moderate travel to suppliers and work closely with our team in Asia to establish product development technical and manufacturing processes.
