Ready At Dawn is looking for an Environment Shader Artist to join us in creating compelling real-time worlds for high profile, original games.

We are excited to hear from candidates passionate about creating beautiful game worlds, and collaborating with a diverse group of designers, artists, and engineers to craft environments that intuitively support the gameplay within.

The ideal candidate in this role is an experienced Environment Shader Artist in games, with a balance of hard surface and organic texturing skills. Knowledge of visual communication techniques using value, form, and color is very important in the role, as well technical and organizational processes for achieving stable and performant real-time worlds within a game engine.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

Industry experience as an Environment Shader Artist.

Experience creating tiling textures.

Experience using a 3D software package for tiling material application and creating and maintaining UVs.

Experience with PBR rendering and material techniques.

Experience working in real-time game engines and solid understanding of optimization for memory and framerate.

A professional portfolio that demonstrates both technical and artistic execution of high-fidelity, game-ready textures.

Experience giving and receiving creative and technical critique.

Description(岗位职责)

Create textures required for rendering physically based game environments.

Construct shaders/materials using a proprietary in-house material editor.

UV layout for both tiling and 0-1 mapped textures.

Application and blending of materials on assets.

Match art styles defined by the Lead Artist/Art Director.

Collaborate closely with 3D modelers, lighting artists and game designers.

Manage texture and shader efficiency.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Experience using Substance Suite, ZBrush, Photoshop and Maya.

Experience designing textures and materials for games in virtual reality.

Experience mentoring junior artists.
