As a Research Scientist lead, you will support your team members and help them realize their goals and aspirations. You will hire diverse talent and grow the team. You will build partnership and trust with other teams.

The focus of this role includes human motion and appearance capture, overlapping with related research streams on statistical and biophysical models, physics-based simulation, rendering, including differentiable/inverse rendering. The position requires a combination of education and experience in hardware and software systems, computer vision and computer graphics.

PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

10+ Publications at leading workshops or conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, NeurIPS.

5+ years of experience in C++ and/or Python programming languages.


Build and lead a team of research scientists, hardware and systems engineers working towards next generation capture systems, aiming for a step function improvement over the state of the art.

Develop and communicate research vision both internally and externally, re-prioritize projects dynamically based on new results and current stakeholder needs.

Develop new advanced technologies related to the generation of convincing digital humans, such as dense 3D and 4D reconstruction (tracking) of the human body, face, hands, hair, clothes and accessories.

Formulation of new research challenges and breaking them down into milestones, designing evaluation strategy and contingency plans.

Collaborate with other researchers, engineers, and 3D artists to prototype hardware and software solutions, experiments and concepts that advance the entire digital human effort.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Experience with computer systems (both hardware and software), digital photography, physics, mathematics (especially calculus and linear algebra), computer vision, and image processing.

Experience with dense digital human capture systems for high-end visual effects and/or video game applications, such as 4D scanners, light stages or custom multi-camera systems.

Experience with machine vision cameras, lenses, lights, hardware synchronization, camera calibration, color science.

Experience with 3d software packages such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Unity or Unreal Engine.

Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by industry awards, grants, fellowships, patents, co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
