Meta’s Reality Labs team is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging Augmented and Virtual Reality industries and the game-changing Portal products. As a Packaging Designer at Meta, you will help bring the next generation of virtual reality and hardware experiences to life. You bring strategic problem solving and industry leading design skills to create delightful, holistically considered packaging. You have extensive experience designing and shipping consumer product packaging and are comfortable working collaboratively with cross-discipline teams.
This position is full time.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design (3D), or a related field.
3+ years of experience as an industrial designer, developing consumer packaging or 3D/physical brand experiences.
2+ years experience leading design projects and directing development activities.
Hands on experience exploring and refining designs through iterative prototyping (Dielines/3D).
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and render packages (SolidWorks, NX, Rhino, KeyShot).
Description（岗位职责）
Design category-leading structural packaging for Meta’s hardware business.
Define the unboxing experience from purchase to set-up. Develop thoughtful product layouts that optimize for a seamless physical-to-digital flow.
Shape the structural language of our brand through packaging. Craft holistic solutions that consider product presentation, materials, construction, tonality, & print.
Bring user-centric thinking and excellent aesthetic sensibility to align packaging with brand, retail, and customer needs.
Work closely with UXR teams to uncover OOBE insights and test concept performance against evolving product goals.
Collaborate with Marketing Creative to inform our artwork approach and ensure harmonious integration of 2D and 3D assets.
Conceive elegant ways to address technical engineering challenges and overcome complex shipping requirements.
Partner with engineers to realize designs and ensure the flawless delivery of our products against robust test standards.
Help invent the future of packaging and drive upstream innovation. Explore and define new approaches to package form, function, construction, and material.
Utilize a deep understanding of technical processes, materials, and technologies to advance important sustainability goals.
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Communicate with clarity and partner with cross-functional teams to execute under tight timelines.
Lead/own design projects with internal and external resources.
Ability to travel (Up to 20%).
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Experience in ArtiosCAD or similar 2D packages.
5+ years of experience as an industrial designer, developing consumer packaging or 3D/physical brand experiences.
