Summary(岗位介绍)
We are looking for a Visiting Researcher with a polymer background to join our team to conduct research and development of new-to-the world polymer materials to be used in AR/VR and haptics devices. Your work will move the needle of the state-of-the-art of the polymers. You will be working with top experts in the field and work with diverse cross-functional teams to achieve from material development to application. The ideal candidate should have strong technical depth in polymer as well as breadth in adjacent areas.
This Visiting Researcher role is for 24 months.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree or completing a postdoctoral assignment in the field of Polymer Science, Polymer Physics, Polymer Process, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
4+ years experience with polymer lab work and experiment design.
Demonstrated polymer fundamental knowledge.
Demonstrated creative problem solving to find effective solutions.
Gel-spinning or electro-spinning process experience.
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Description(岗位职责)
Conduct research to understand the fundamentals of the semicrystalline polymer process and performance to validate hypothesis.
Develop new-to-the-world polymers towards product application by the scalable approach.
Collaborate with cross-functional team to understand application needs and deliver the polymer to device prototyping.
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Semicrystalline polymer experience.
Nano-composite thermoplastic polymer experience.
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences.
Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
