Summary（岗位介绍）
We are looking for a skilled and motivated researcher with expertise in computational statistics, information theory, Bayesian modeling, optimal experimental design, uncertainty quantification, Bayesian deep learning, data assimilation, and machine learning to join our team. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
In this position, you will work with an interdisciplinary team of domain experts in embodied artificial intelligence (AI), human–computer interaction, natural language understanding, computer vision, and cognitive and perceptual science on problems that contribute to creating human-centered contextual interactive systems. The role will include developing information-theoretic algorithms, methods, and techniques that advance our capabilities toward human–machine collaboration and dialogue, as well as developing statistical and machine learning models that incorporate context and uncertainty in their decision making process. These models will leverage large-scale real-world data sets and the scale of Meta machine-learning infrastructure, and will be deployed into AR/VR prototypes to uncover research questions on the path to the next era of human-centered computing.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
PhD degree in computational statistics, computational and applied mathematics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related technical field and publication track record
Experience defining and leading advanced research in computational statistics, applied statistics, machine learning, information theory or optimal experimental design driven by researchers
7+ years of experience in an area of research applicable to the responsibilities of the role such as computational statistics, uncertainty quantification, and machine learning
Description（岗位职责）
Develop and execute a cutting-edge research program aimed at information-theoretic algorithms, methods, and techniques that advance our capabilities toward human–machine collaboration and dialogue
Develop tasks, data-collection strategies, modeling approaches, and evaluation criteria to deliver on research program objectives
Work collaboratively with other research scientists to develop novel solutions and models in service of contextualized AI for augmented reality
Mentor MS/PhD interns and postdocs and collaborate with external academic groups to advance our research goals
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Experience in cognitive sciences, game theory, and reinforcement learning
Familiarity with concepts from natural language processing and multimodal machine learning
Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at conferences such as AISTATS, AAAI, ICML, NeurIPS, ACL, EMNLP, or similar
