At Facebook, we’re developing the future of AR/VR displays. As a Hardware Engineering Manager, Device Technology within Reality Labs, your job will be to manage a high-caliber team of research scientists and engineers with the mission to invent, design, develop, and analyze architectures and integration schemes that enable our uLED designs to be realized into arrays that meet an aggressive product vision. You will work closely with internal research teams, academic institutions, cross-functional partners, and external partners and vendors. You will help define requirements and deliverables as we progress along New Technology Introduction (NTI) lifecycles for our microLED Displays. To be successful, you will eliminate barriers to the team’s success, clearly communicate their work to all stakeholders and drive action with our suppliers and partners. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity and tenacity, and able to find ways to help our research teams be more efficient
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials/Optics/Physics/EE/ME or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of experience in the optoelectronic industry, such as (u)LEDs or lasers, with at least 3 years in III-V materials
4+ years of direct engineering management experience, including activities such as career development, objective and priority-setting, performance assessments, etc.
4+ years of experience leading device development or process integration organizations and internal and external research
2+ years of experience in a fast-paced product development environment, with team responsibilities in new technology or product introduction (NTI/NPI)
Description（岗位职责）
Manage, grow, and develop a distributed uLED Device Technology Team
Drive invention and innovation to design and develop new uLED architectures
Drive the technology strategy to meet our KPI roadmaps
Lead team through new technology introduction stages and milestones
Ensure that the overall LED device strategy is in line with our near and long-term commercial direction
Build strong cross-functional relationships with other teams to support the technology and product vision
Ensuring that the correct technology platforms are pursued to effectively run all the planned experiments and step-up plans
Engage with our internal and external development partners to drive device architecture and integration knowledge and development
Expect to travel domestically and internationally
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
2+ years experience in the LED industry working on GaN or Red LED Devices
Experience engaging with and managing partners and suppliers
Experience with new product introduction and technology transfer best practices and tools
Experience with practicing phased product development processes
Leadership qualities of the successful candidate include the following: collaboration, building and developing high performing teams
Demonstration of utilizing problem-solving, critical thinking, negotiation and multi-functional influence to advance complex programs
Proven analytical skills and cross-functional communication
