The Reality Labs Research Audio Team is looking for a Technical Lead Manager (TLM) Mechanical Engineer to help bring cutting edge virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences and hardware to life. In our Research & Advanced Development projects, we are setting out to fundamentally transform how people interact with sound and audio devices; bringing new high value experiences to the daily lives of billions of people. To make this possible, we need a leader to foster a well-rounded team that nurtures kinship, enables good communication, and is sympathetic to the challenges in these diverse domains.
In this role, you will be cooperating with engineers and researchers to concept, design, build, and test prototype audio hardware. You will be collaborating and contributing at a deeply technical level and guiding efforts of team members supporting you; including external vendors and manufacturing partners. You will be responsible for intaking requirements from researchers and engineers, working with TPM’s to manage program milestones, identifying risks and associated mitigation plans, and clearly communicating to program stakeholders. You will lead design, prototype, and manufacture of hardware enabling audio experiences optimized for size, weight, and power performance.

Qualifications（岗位要求）
7+ years of experience as a hardware leader working across one or more of the following areas: audio, wearable, and/or consumer electronics devices
2+ years of experience managing hardware teams
Experience leading multiple engineering efforts across R&D programs in both strategy and execution
Mechanical CAD experience (NX, SolidWorks, CREO)
Experience with hands-on prototyping and of manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, soft goods etc.)
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Description（岗位职责）
Lead mechanical development for audio hardware in a highly cross-functional team environment
Mentor, provide guidance, and develop a small team of mechanical engineers
Coordinate with key partners (Researchers, Electrical Engineers, System Engineers, Leadership, Operations, Legal, Facilities, etc.) to support new and ongoing projects
Design, build, and validate form factor prototypes integrating novel audio components
Design, simulate, prototype, and test VR/AR systems that combine electronics, mechanics, and software
Manage vendors and manufacturing partners to achieve teams goals
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
MS in Mechanical, Acoustics, Physics, or equivalent
Experience growing the engineering team
Experience in failure analysis (both hands-on and analyzing data)
Experience with FEA with vibration analysis
Experience integrating RF technologies such as WIFI, BT, GPS, etc.
