Summary（岗位介绍）
As part of our failure analysis group, you will help craft solutions to complex problems. You’ll collaborate with various teams to transform hardware components into an integrated, reliable product by pushing the boundaries on what we can do in the realm of AR, VR, and Portal devices, and the broader Facebook hardware technologies. You will function as a liaison between different groups, develop an understanding of materials by correlating their properties to the performance and failures, address failure mechanisms, and suggest a mitigation action. You will also be expected to get trained on different tools, support material durability studies, and coordinate the use of multiple instruments. We emphasize a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to solving technical challenges and looking for an excellent team player.
We are looking for an experienced individual who can drive root-cause analysis using focused characterization techniques. The right candidate will get trained and support others to address needs from various projects. This position strongly partners with various teams. Strong interaction and interface with cross-functional teams are necessary. We are looking for an individual who is a strong team player. He/she must adhere to the best of class lab practices, maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment, manage sample inventory, follow all lab health and safety regulations.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
3+ years of industry experience in qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis, trace phase analysis, and failure analysis with proficiency in advanced analysis techniques
Understanding and expertise in analytical tools such as Gas Chromatography (GC-MS), Liquid Chromatography (LC-MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS), Gel permeation Chromatography (GPC), FTIR, and Raman
Experience in bringing up analytical chemistry laboratory instruments, developing and validating methods, and standard operating procedures
Description（岗位职责）
Perform detailed material analysis to help selection of safer materials, understand material degradation mechanisms, solve technically complex failures, drive test plans, and perform trace phase analysis
Identify and define action plans to solve complex technical problems
Cross-correlate data from various techniques to drive towards conclusions
Hands-on work with various tools including microscopy, spectroscopy, and thermal techniques
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Ph.D. in Chemistry with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or MS degree in chemistry with 6+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience in spectroscopy and thermal analysis
Experience in adhesive, foams, epoxies, thermoplastics, polymeric material
