The RL Packaging Team is focused on delivering consumer product packaging for all RL products (Quest, Portal, Wearables, Accessories and new devices). We focus on packaging that is sustainable, design-focused, and enhances the customer experience.
The RL Packaging team seeks a Technical Program Manager who has strong experience driving industry-leading sustainability initiatives in the package space. As the packaging sustainability TPM, you will be responsible for driving net-new sustainability initiatives, developing a roadmap plan to intercept new technologies into products, and guiding the overall packaging sustainability strategy. You have a passion for holistic sustainability in the packaging space and are looking for a place to support significant development in this area to impact the industry at large. This position will require a great deal of cross functional leadership and communication with teams that are not familiar with the subject. You must be able to listen to concerns and challenges and influence teams to move in the right direction. The products we work on help connect the world closer together and we contribute with each box we design.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS in packaging or mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
7+ years of hands-on program management experience, driving packaging structural development.
10+ years of packaging experience.
Detailed knowledge of the sustainable consumer goods space and experience developing sustainable products and packaging.
Clear understanding of packaging sustainability trends and leading technologies.
Demonstrated experience driving consumer electronics design cycles.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with packaging suppliers.
Description（岗位职责）
Technical Program Manager for RL Packaging sustainability initiatives spanning across Reality Labs product lines including Quest, Portal, Wearables, Accessories, and new devices.
End-to-end ownership of ambiguous and broad sustainability initiatives including new material development, new program implementation, and cross-functional packaging initiatives. Project areas include but are not limited to Packaging Materials, Logistics, Fulfillment, Refurb, Replacement, Return, Recycling, and Sustainable Design approaches.
Build the bridge between packaging sustainability and overall Meta sustainability initiatives, creating relationships and influencing roadmaps tangential to packaging.
Develop the packaging sustainability roadmap, prioritize based on resources and impact, create cross-functional workstreams and drive milestone execution through consensus across multiple stakeholders.
Present sustainability updates and recommendations to leadership, distilling key information on trade-offs and driving strategic scope alignment.
Bring deep sustainability subject matter expertise so that you can recommend new sustainability initiatives and lead the exploration in collaboration with the packaging engineering, industrial design and hardware circularity teams.
Influence and design new methodologies for measuring sustainability, collect and analyze data, and present recommendations to management in partnership with packaging engineering and the Hardware Circularity Team.
Continuously innovate and improve processes to drive best practice sustainability approaches into the packaging development process and ensure the process lands with each new program.
~10% international and domestic travel.
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
BS in packaging engineering.
15+ years of hands-on experience in the packaging industry as both a packaging engineer and technical program manager.
Demonstrated experience implementing sustainable packaging initiatives in high volume products.
