Summary(岗位介绍)

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Meta, you will be responsible for developing and nurturing key strategic relationships with critical suppliers in the electrical engineering/electro-mechanical (EE/EM) space, which includes implementing strategic agreements, negotiating part costs, designing supply chains, and ensuring our supply base is able to support the organization’s product ambitions. It is this role’s responsibility to ensure our suppliers meet or exceed commercial requirements throughout the lifecycle of the product(s).

Commodity Area(s): This role would be responsible for end-to-end ownership for one or both of below commodity areas:

- Haptics and Motors: Linear Resonant Actuators (LRAs), Voice Coil Motors (VCM), Kinesthetic haptics, piezoelectric haptics.

- Antenna: FPC/PCB antennas, Molded Interconnect Devices (MIDs), Laser Direct Structuring (LDS).

Qualifications(岗位要求)

BA/BS Degree

Sourcing experience in listed commodity areas. 5+ years experience working in antenna and/or haptics technology development

3+ years experience working in consumer hardware products or antenna and/or haptics modules for consumer hardware use

Experience with high volume, Just-In-Time (JIT) contract manufacturer supply chains and design cycles commonly observed in consumer electronics

Electromechanical proficiency in both mechanical fabrication processes (e.g. injection molding, metal stamping, etc.) and electrical engineering constraints, specifically in the context of antenna and haptics

Experience working on both strategy and execution in a hardware development environment

Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, contract negotiation and supply base management

Leadership, program management, and cross-functional teamwork experience

Experience communicating with and influencing all levels of management

Business fluency in English

Description(岗位职责)

Commodity Management and Strategy

Design the overall supply chain vision, strategy and execution plan for the commodity area

Develop with cross functional teams an organization wide commodity strategy aimed at delivering world class quality, cost and support for Facebook’s product ambitions

Establish, manage and own strategic supplier relationships at the executive level for the supply chain for managed modules/components and their subcomponents, which could include module suppliers, distributors and component suppliers

Build out, keep updated and enforce an Approved Vendor List (AVL) for managed commodity areas. This also includes investigating, onboarding and developing potential suppliers to meet AVL standards when appropriate

Conduct regular Supplier Business Reviews (SBRs) aimed at continuous improvement through scoring, benchmarking and sharing actionable feedback with suppliers on the AVL

Conduct Request for Information (RFI), Proposal (RFP) and Quotation (RFQ) exercises with AVL suppliers on new design opportunities

Partner with Design, Supplier Quality and Supply Base Engineering teams to jointly evaluate supplier responses and develop Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR) decisions early in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process

Contracts:

Initiate, negotiate and execute appropriate contracts to support product mass production (MP), including master supply contracts and supply Statements of Work (SOWs), and lock in favorable supply chain terms

Cost

Become a subject matter expert in the cost of implementing features within the commodity and provide credible input into product feature design discussions

Initiate, negotiate and execute appropriate contracts to support New Technology Investigation (NTI) efforts, including development agreements, licensing agreements and SOWs, that would safeguard Meta IP

Chronicle cost evolution from product inception to mass production. Able to leverage suppliers to help influence design for cost

Build and utilize credible should-cost models for key modules to influence cost negotiations

Initiate and lead ongoing cost reduction efforts to enable lowest possible total cost per unit, which includes the cost of CapEx, OpEx, Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE), Bill of Materials (BOM), Material Value Add (MVA), transportation, inventory, and quality standards

Technology Enablement

Influence supplier technology roadmaps and create internal disruptive value-add to ensure Meta’s system architecture and commercial requirements are met

Drive early supplier involvement initiatives to ensure our commodity suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps

Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Facebook AR/VR supply chain

Supply

Own the ramp plan and work with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a smooth and on-time ramp, which includes scheduling appropriate material preparations and tool qualifications ahead of schedule

Formulate contingency plans to improve the flexibility of and de-risk the supply chain and, such as addressing long lead times, single source, potential excess inventory and any other supply chain issues

Work with Supply Base Engineering and our CM partners to avoid any potential part shortages or quality problems that may affect production schedules

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Contract drafting/negotiation experience

Analytical experience with database management and data visualization

Degree in business/engineering/supply chain/logistics

Business fluency in a second or third language, especially Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese

Advanced degree (PhD. or Masters) in engineering discipline and/or MBA
