The Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help shape the future of our cloud products.
The team’s charter is to build out end to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team you’ll also support long term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition. All while enhancing transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments, safeguarding shareholder interest.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 10+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
- OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA preferred
- 10+ years of relevant supply chain finance work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Thorough and detailed oriented, while summarizing analysis to drive broader business context and insight
- Comfortable handling ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at fast pace
- Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritize as needed
- Adept at managing and developing large teams
- Strong partnering capabilities, collaborative and inclusive when working with others
- Synthesize and communicate analyses; provide insight to senior leaders and business partners
- The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

We are looking for a Senior Finance Director supporting Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Business.
This role will own the P&L end to end and be responsible for all financial matters relating to our ambitions in Hololens, Microsoft Mesh, and their core position with our Metaverse strategy. The opportunity for this leader is to build the newly combined team, influence product strategy, deliver on commitments, while building for future scalability by establishing processes and controls that drive operating excellence, clear accountability, and shared learnings.

This role is a great opportunity to:
- Partners with senior business and commercial leaders to develop and drive strategy and performance to achieve the best return on investment (ROI) for shareholders.
- Orchestrates the rhythm of the business including month/quarter close, recurring business reviews, periodic audits, forecasting/budgeting, and long-range plans.
- Lead business analytics and research activities determining present and future financial performance, formulating, and evaluating financial plans, economic transactions, and future opportunities.
- Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact the broader organization and Microsoft’s long-term goals
- Guides team and partners to identify and share risks and take steps to mitigate.
- Drives culture of accountability with a growth mindset to ensure control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed.

- Provides direction and actionable insights on the state of the business to key stakeholders.
- Reviews, analyzes, and prepares recommendations for preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from senior business and commercial stakeholders.
