Summary（岗位介绍）
Meta’s RL team is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging Augmented and Virtual Reality industries and the game-changing Portal products. As a softgoods product design engineer within the APAC Hardware team you will seamlessly integrate fabrics and comfort into next-generation consumer electronic hardware. You will work closely with our US based softgoods engineers, industrial designers and act as a link between them and our manufacturing partners (vendors). You will refine selected designs and work with our manufacturing engineers during the prototyping and production process. You have a passion for pushing the state of the art of softgoods design and manufacturing and are comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This position is full time and located in Shanghai or Shenzhen, China.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience working with softgoods on consumer products, with a focus on integration to hard goods.
Expertise in 3D modeling and 2D (NX is a plus)
Experience in statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge and expertise in softgoods materials (elastomers, textiles, foams, leather, adhesives, etc.) and processes (bonding, molding, cut and sew).
Hands on prototyping ability for looks like and works like models.
Proven experience solving problems in a cross-functional team.
Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Description（岗位职责）
Link between US based engineering team and our vendors, assist in conveying design intent.
Assist in prototype development at our softgoods vendors. Manage prototype requests, DOEs, etc.
Drive process development, process control, data collection, capability assessment activities at the manufacturing partners
Help establish validation procedures to ensure design intent.
Review vendor tool/fixture design, process flow, equipment selection, DFM and DOE proposals. Help define challenges and corrective actions.
Assess vendor readiness to support builds and ramp, identify issues and recommend solutions.
