Position Overview
We are looking for a Principal Optical Engineer to develop our Mixed Reality products. Working on Microsoft HoloLens you will be part of an organization consisting of highly capable professionals from the various areas of technology and science.
As a Principal Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the next-generation waveguide technologies. This includes innovating for new combiner technologies, design of diffractive optics and waveguides for mass production, development of simulation algorithms, and working with internal partners on various combiner technologies.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Optical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or Photonics.
- 10+ years of proven experience on wave optics and ray/geometrical optics.
- Strong working knowledge of diffraction, guided waves, and light propagation in complex optical systems.
- Proficiency in mathematical modeling of optical phenomena.
- Understanding of the optical design requirements for the mass production.
- Experience with commercial optics simulation tools such as Zemax, VirtualLab, FRED, or similar.
- Experience in one or more computer programming languages e.g. MATLAB, Python, C/C++/C#, or similar.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Capability and willingness for occasional international travel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
