As Optics Manufacturing Design Engineer in the organization you will be responsible for critical parts of optics components and module process development and manufacturing at Tier2 vendors. You will collaborate across multiple projects with optic engineers, product designers to enable novel product experiences. You will also work with vendors to develop processes and capabilities to deliver high performance products in scalability volume and robust quality.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS degree or higher in Optical or Mechanical Engineering, chemical, Physics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong technical hands-on lens manufacturing, lens/optical coating, lamination, laser cutting
Able to work with less supervision, driving hard decision making
7+ years of experience in optics module design/manufacturing, quality and assembly.
Experience with high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing, partnering with Asia-based suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Able to write, read and communicate both English and Mandarin.
Experience / working knowledge of:
Optics technology development for consumer electronics.
Advanced materials and thin film coating development on lens, Optical.
Process development and process integration for advanced film materials.
Design of experiment (DOE) and statistical data analysis.
Description（岗位职责）
Drive manufacturing process innovation in Optic solutions for AR/VR products.
You are responsible to work with the Engineering Team and commercial Team to identify, audit and select the best supplier/partner (SPOR) to manufacture our products
Ownership at vendors component and Optics process and manufacturing support, i.e. lens manufacturing, film/lens lamination, die cut, laser cutting, adhesion, lens/display coating process development, etc. good understanding of tolerance stack up analysis.
Work with internal cross-functional teams, contract manufacturer optics integrators and component suppliers on process fixture DFM, process bring up and qualifications. You are also responsible for the optics module sub-assembly from NPI to Ramp.
Work with vendors to develop MP intend equipment, process and materials
Work with the internal Quality Team to define quality characterization, inspection methodology, and qualification of components (lens, cover glass, module level sub-assy qualifications, etc.) before components ship to FATP (Final Assembly, Testing and packaging).
Work with product design, quality and Reliability Team to debug optical and mechanical issues during Optics module development from NPI to Ramp. Identify root cause and provide improvements via process optimization and qualifications.
Travelling 30-50% to Tier 2 vendors for support
