We are seeking audio professionals for both Facebook and Facebook Reality Labs. Our teams are defining the audio experience for hundreds of millions of users across the Facebook family of apps including Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, Portal, Oculus and more. We cover all areas of audio processing such as echo cancellation, noise reduction, dereverberation, low bitrate codecs, packet loss, jitter compensation, audio pipeline, ARVR headsets and other consumer devices.
The Reality Labs and Facebook teams are helping people around the world come together and connect through hardware and software. We are bringing products to consumers that transform entertainment and social experiences with global departments dedicated to research, computer vision, haptics, social interaction, and more.
We believe that a key component of our mission is to improve and enhance human hearing and audio sensing. We’re seeking experienced Audio Software Engineers to join our various teams in ARVR and Facebook. We are looking for passionate and articulate technologists, who love jumping in to solve novel problems, and enjoy working with talented interdisciplinary teams.
3+ years of experience with real-time audio
3+ years of experience with development of software systems including audio software for games or other real time environments
3+ years of experience integrating, debugging, and shipping audio algorithms and technologies
C++ experience, including use of C++11 features
Problem solving and optimization experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Develop software for a variety of consumer devices, including speakers, AR and VR headsets
Contributing member to projects from concept to product
Analyze, design, develop and debug real time AR and VR audio algorithms and/or Android systems
Develop audio driver, audio firmware or audio AOSP layer
Develop novel systems, firmware, and signal processing code
Develop software for a variety of consumer devices
Collaborate closely with both the research and product team to deploy new technologies including augmenting systems and algorithms to make them robust to shipping scenarios
Identify areas of performance, quality and reliability improvement for audio quality across desktop, mobile and web endpoints
Expertise in audio signal processing and auditory perception, both classical and machine learned techniques
Experience with audio system design including silicon through user experience
Proven track record of innovation as demonstrated by products shipped, publications and/or patents
