Facebook designs, develops, and builds all its own AR/VR and Portal HW products. The Strategic Sourcing and Technology Partnerships team is responsible for sourcing, licensing and/or building technologies, raw materials, components and final consumer products.

The Silicon Manufacturing Technology and Partnerships Manager is primarily a technical role which requires strong knowledge of silicon manufacturing processes, equipment options, technology and IP licensing, ability to strategize and optimize manufacturing costs in new technologies used in AR products. This role encompasses both micro and macro aspects of technology planning and development, and the ideal candidate will be able to seamlessly navigate between immediate execution needs and long-term strategic planning.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

BS in Physical Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science.

10+ years of experience in one or more positions responsible for semiconductor manufacturing equipment technology development or evaluation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Experience working directly with or for Semiconductor manufacturing equipment vendors such as AMAT, LAM, KLA+ or in a partnership position with semiconductor manufacturing companies such as II-IV Corp, Global Foundries, Intel, Lumileds etc., in technology evaluation, technology development and sourcing.

Experience with silicon manufacturing development process and equipment.

Experience working with cross-functional teams including Optical Technology Engineering, Silicon, Product (HW) and SW Engineering, Product Management, Partnerships, Sourcing, Finance, and Legal.

Experience with computing and mobile operating systems and SW application development life cycles.

Description(岗位职责)

Establishing a crisp and cross functionally-aligned strategy for the integration of different semiconductor manufacturing technologies across our platform roadmap. Includes identifying de novo opportunities, building the case for/against undertaking a project, building consensus for and securing approvals from cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership for new projects in alignment with product priorities.

Conducting buy/build analyses, formulating a recommended approach, and driving definition, schedule and clarity of engineering/system requirements for manufacturing of custom III-V and II-VI components and IP in close collaboration with the Technology Engineering for Devices (TED) Optical engineers. Exercising deep technical understanding of the semiconductor equipment landscape of technologies, vendors, IP and processes and ability to effectively drive matrixed teams to decisions to be reflected in technical documents such as RFIs, ERSs and SOWs.

Evaluate engineering requirements of the final product for inhouse developed proprietary technologies, including wave guides and micro-LED displays and align these requirements with corresponding processes, equipment, and tools.

Representing TED Optical and Sourcing leadership vis-a-vis vendors, IP providers and other ecosystem players, and facilitating growth of trust relationships with all key partners. Will require domestic and international travel when deemed safe.

Providing guidance on strategic deal terms including custom development, technical partnerships, IP rights and ensuring consistency of approach and prioritization across similarly situated third party engagements. Close collaboration with Partnerships lead, as appropriate.

Developing and implementing new processes to improve operational and execution efficiencies (e.g. RFI process, IDF filings, new project review/approvals, PDP processes).

Work with the operational facility to install, commission and fine tune the equipment and tools performance to meet the desired product quality, yield, and throughput.

Work with equipment and tool manufacturers to evaluate the best possible option to either secure the tools, lease them, or modify existing tools.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

10+ years of experience in one or more positions responsible for semiconductor manufacturing equipment technology development or evaluation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Ph.D., in Physical Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science.

Experience communicating to champion initiatives internally and externally, including compilation of clear and concise briefing materials, for effective communication with executive management and external partners.

Experience with supply chain and supply agreements.
