Summary（岗位介绍）
As a Product Safety Engineer in FRL, you will be responsible for developing and executing our Product Safety and Hazard plans across all HW products. This role will aid in the assessment of product safety issues through analysis, traceability and apply lessons learned early in the development of procedures. This role will interface with many design teams and provide input on critical safety components in product design. You will interact closely with cross-functional teams such as Hardware Engineering, Product Design, Quality, Reliability and Operations. This role is a key point of contact with hardware and compliance teams to ensure safe design and continued safe operations.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS/MS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Optical)
5+ years of work in consumer electronics product safety
Knowledge of light source evaluation according to IEC 60825-1, IEC62471
Knowledge of product safety standards for consumer electronics (IEC 60950-1 or 62368-1)
Knowledge of hazard analysis and risk assessment methodologies and processes like FMEA and FTA
Knowledge of Li-ion battery design, safety, and failure analysis
Experience in safety investigations, either during development process or failure analysis
Description（岗位职责）
Contribute to product design reviews by identifying safety hazards, and proposing measures to effectively eliminate or mitigate them
Oversee DFMEA testing to ensure that testing is done to account for all foreseeable hazards, meets all safety compliance requirements and that documentation is complete and accurate
Guiding the hardware product development teams on design for safety and ensuring designs meet all applicable internal safety specifications and processes
Translating product safety requirements into design requirements for R&D engineers and providing product safety technical guidance
Lead and contribute to product safety event investigations and ensure root cause analysis and corrective action plans are implemented in accordance with the product safety event process
Review, approve or modify changes to products, processes, and documentation that could impact product safety
Maintain knowledge and application of the product safety regulations, standards, requirements and certifications that apply to AR/VR products
Review emerging regulations and changing design standards for potential impacts. Propose compliance plans to meet changing requirements
Obtain safety compliance type approvals for product lines to ensure entry into domestic and international locations and markets
