As a Research Prototyper at Facebook Reality Labs Research, you will work closely with our Research Team and bring to life an integrated system of interaction experiences that will define the future of how people interact in AR. You will join a multi-disciplinary team experimenting with bold ideas in areas of human-computer interaction, including interaction techniques, predictive modeling, adaptive user interface personalization, user input disambiguation, sensors and hardware prototyping, eye tracking, haptics, audio, and perceptual psychology. If you have a passion for creating interactive systems and experiences and a love for solving novel problems from first principles, this is an opportunity to join a team focused on defining and building the next generation of VR and AR technology.

You’ll be responsible for researching, designing, and building prototypes that transfer research projects into interactive experiences. In our collaborative environment, you’ll partner with expert researchers, designers, and engineers to create the technology that makes AR pervasive and universal. You’ll tackle the challenge of developing novel approaches to address complex user interactions, modeling interaction intent, designing interfaces for system uncertainty disambiguation, and/or personalizing the system based on user actions.


5+ years of experience in Prototyping, Game Development, or related areas

3+ years experience working with Unity, including working with 3D assets and external tools (DLLs), and developing plug-ins, or equivalent

Portfolio featuring examples of interaction, prototype, and/or design work

Experience building and iterating on prototypes in short design cycles

Experience leading projects in multi-disciplinary collaborations


Envision, design, and develop interactive approaches that showcase research outcomes for advanced prototypes and user experiences

Support the realization of research outcomes into Unity through reusable tools and extensible plug-ins

Clearly articulate prototyping decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders and contribute to strategic decisions with engineering and research teams

Write clean readable code, contribute reusable modules, prioritize and get things done with a high level of efficiency

Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Experience with Unity Engine, or other 3D prototyping tools

Experience working with researcher scientists

Strong understanding of the principles of human-centered design

Experience with hardware prototyping (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBoard)
