The eye tracking team is working to advance the state of human tracking technologies by designing and implementing eye tracking software in a broad range of eye tracking research applications. Working closely with expert Scientists, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Software Engineers you will help create cutting-edge research prototypes that explore the future of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). You will be responsible for designing, developing and testing new software algorithms for eye tracking and gaze estimation applications using a variety of sensor modalities. In addition, you will take part in simulating, analyzing, testing, and reporting on potential software and hardware solutions. Eye tracking requires the co-development of hardware and software algorithms. Come work at the intersection of these two technologies to help the team define better hardware and image quality metrics based on algorithm needs.
Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Currently has, or in the process of obtaining, an MS or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Interest and/or experience working at the intersection of of hardware and software
Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Matlab, Python and/or C++
Experience communicating and presenting technical work in a clear and concise way
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Description（岗位职责）
Work closely with both the Eye Tracking Hardware and Algorithms teams to determine the impact of hardware performance and image quality on algorithm performance
Develop a simulation pipeline to predict algorithm performance based on hardware performance
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Image processing, machine learning, and/or algorithm development experience
Optical modeling experience
Experience in consumer electronic product design field
Familiar with image quality metrics and having hands on experience of image quality evaluation and tuning for computer vision is a plus
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
