Summary（岗位介绍）
At Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. You will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers on the end-to-end product development cycle including concept, design, development, and integration of those optical components or systems. You will also work cross functionally to develop specifications and test methods, perform performance evaluation and work closely with manufacturing partners for prototyping and mass production.
We are looking for skilled and motivated Optical Engineers to join our Display and Optics team in FRL. Based on your expertise and your passion, you may work on one or more areas: imaging optics, viewing optics, optical systems, optical metrology, display optics, optical characterization, optical material and optical fabrication processes. You will take one or more responsibilities listed below.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS degree in optical engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.
Based on the specific role, knowledge and/or hands-on experience in one of these areas:Imaging and viewing optics design and tolerancing. Complex optical and opto-mechanical system design. Optically graded plastic and glass material. Optical and camera testing and metrology.Optical fabrication processes (e.g. injection molding, glass molding, optical filming converting. Display/backlight design and manufacturing. Stray light modeling and analysis. Optical system engineering and cross-functional large volume product development. Experience in an optical software package (e. g. Zemax, Code V, LighTools, FRED, ASAP, Eikonal, Trace Pro, OSLO). Experience in both sequential and non-sequential optics is desired.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Domestic and international travel required.
Experience building collaborative relationships to work with internal and external cross-functional teams.
Description（岗位职责）
Define and design optical components and/or systems for next generation AR and VR experience.
Establish engineering specifications, including key performance metrics, test methods, and test requirements for optical components and subsystems.
Collaborate with internal XFN teams and external industry partners to develop and mature state-of-the-art technologies (e.g. material, process, metrology, and design) to extend the horizon of AR/VR experience.
Lead the development during New Product Introduction (NPI) to scale up for high volume manufacturing.
Define future optics technology roadmap and scope out New Technology Introduction (NTI).
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
MS or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.
