Facebook’s mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Facebook Reality Labs is seeking a Research Scientist Intern to help us invent technologies for interacting with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) devices. In particular, we are seeking candidates who can (1) conduct independent research to understand human and machine relationship through the lens of people driven by data, and (2) apply state-of-the-art explainable AI techniques to understand how model explanations augment human and machine relationship.
Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in computer science, machine learning, reinforcement learning, statistics, or a related computational field.
Research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL. Experience with machine-learning libraries (numpy, scikit-learn, scipy, pandas, matplotlib, tensorflow, pytorch).
Experience with deep learning and explainable/interpretable AI methods in machine learning and reinforcement learning.
Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Description（岗位职责）
Scope and conduct independent research to explore the role and effectiveness of explainable AI, or develop new explainable AI techniques in AR/VR settings.
Communicate research agenda and findings to collaborators across disciplines.
Write modular research code using Facebook’s data and machine learning infrastructure.
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Intent to return to the degree-program after the completion of the internship.
Published at least one paper in a top conference (CHI, KDD, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc).
Familiarity with AR/VR technologies and literature.
