The Vision Products Group (VPG) working on Apple Vision Pro is looking for a Lab Manager who will be responsible for the bring up of a state of the art mechanical fabrication and test lab. The ideal candidate will have experience planning and bringing up mechanical labs, competency with basic machine shop tools and equipment, an understanding of common metrology equipment, and a desire to build a functional lab space that will be used by Product Designers to help create the next generation of Apple products.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Previous experience planning mechanical lab and test spaces
Ability to understand and create hand sketches, CAD models, and technical drawings
Basic knowledge of tools and equipment found in a design lab (3D printers, laser cutter, mill, lathe, etc.)
Experience with CNC a plus
Familiarity with proper shop safety and housekeeping practices
Strong organizational skills
Familiarity with digital productivity tools like spreadsheets and slide presentations
Ability to work with cross functional teams
Strong troubleshooting and problem mitigation skills
Self motivated and driven to complete projects quickly and efficiently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
Description（岗位职责）
*Assist with planning/expanding lab facilities
*Coordinate installation, bring up, training, maintenance, and calibration of lab equipment
*Execute detailed design, fabrication, and assembly/disassembly procedures and accurately record and communicate issues or suggested areas for improvement
*Modify mechanical prototypes to facilitate product testing and validation
*Assemble mechanical and electrical test fixtures to facilitate product testing
*Assist with measuring/testing prototypes
*Maintain and troubleshoot shop equipment
*Maintain lab space, keeping it tidy and organized
*Train users on safe operation of machine shop equipment
*Supervise and support engineers working in the lab
*Work closely with the engineering team to support product development work
*Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
